During this year's Linedancer Magazine Dance & Music Awards in late February, Jo won the award for International Instructor of the Year and was inducted into the Line Dance Hall of Fame along with Max Perry.

During the week of February 1 - 5, 1999, Jo spent time instructing aboard the Ecstasy cruise ship in the Carribean Sea.   The event was the Country Western Dance Cruise on the Ecstasy, organized by Mary and Dean Faast, and oh boy, was it an event!
